💌 An Open Letter to the Travel Dreamers Still Figuring It Out

Dear Travel Dreamer,

I see you.

Still saving. Still scrolling. Still trying to figure out how to go from wanderlust to boarding passes, from Pinterest pins to passport stamps.

Maybe like me, you started this year full of intention.

I had plans to fly solo every few months, to make the most of my travel agent discounts, and to show the behind-the-scenes of what it really looks like to build a location-flexible life.

I was ready.

But then life did what life sometimes does — it shifted the timeline.

🧳 I Was Flying High — Then Grounded

In December, I felt renewed.

In February, I traveled to Morocco and felt alive.

But in May, everything came to a halt.

My passport was stolen. My plans unraveled. My momentum stalled.

And with that — the content I’d hoped to create, the solo adventures I envisioned, and the brand storytelling I’d mapped out… it all shifted.

It wasn’t just disappointing — it was disorienting.

🌀 The In-Between is Where It Gets Real

Since May, I’ve had to do the uncomfortable, unglamorous work of pivoting:

  • Finding new ways to express my love of travel without leaving the UK
  • Blogging from the trenches instead of the tarmac
  • Sharing from the stillness instead of the skies

And to be honest, the in-between has felt so far from the highlight reel.

But if you’re in a similar space — planning, waiting, longing — I want you to know:

You are not behind.

You are becoming.

🌍 Travel Is Still Your Story — Even If You’re Not Traveling

One of the most radical things I’ve learned is that:

The travel dream doesn’t die just because you’re grounded.

It transforms.

For me, that’s looked like:

  • Solo dates in Manchester that feel like little getaways
  • Exploring creativity and culture in my own city
  • Building my travel brand from my bedroom instead of the beach
  • Documenting the journey honestly — from broken plans to bold pivots

✨ Keep Dreaming. Keep Documenting.

This is your reminder that the travel dream isn’t just about the destinations.

It’s about:

  • The courage to plan again
  • The commitment to your vision even when no one else sees it
  • The willingness to tell your story, even when the story feels stuck

So if you’re not traveling right now — that’s okay.

There’s still magic in your movement.

There’s still power in your presence.

There’s still space for your voice in this global story.

📓 What’s Next

I’m still dreaming. Still building. Still showing up.

And I’ll be teaching how to build a story-led travel brand even when life isn’t perfect inside my upcoming course for creatives, storytellers, and aspiring digital nomads.

But for now, this letter is for you.

You, who feels like the only one not catching flights.

You, who wonders if it’s too late.

You, who’s still figuring it out.

You’re not behind. You’re just becoming.

And that’s a beautiful place to be.

With love,

Minnie

📌 5 Things I’d Tell the Travel Dreamer Still Figuring It Out

1. 🌍 Your travel story is valid, even if you haven’t left home yet.

Wanderlust isn’t measured by miles — it’s a mindset. Start where you are.

2. 🧳 Delays don’t mean denial.

A stalled trip or stolen passport isn’t the end. Sometimes the pause is part of the preparation.

3. ✨ Document the dream before it looks like one.

Show the behind-the-scenes. Let others see the becoming, not just the boarding passes.

4. 💻 You can still build a travel brand without traveling.

Create, share, teach, plan — your content can inspire even from your city, your room, your reality.

5. 💌 Your dream doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

Maybe you won’t travel full-time. Maybe you will. Either way — it’s your version of freedom, not theirs.

🧳 Escaping Without Leaving: How I Find Travel Inspiration Close to Home

Lately, I’ve had to face a hard truth:

I’m not hopping on flights this summer. I’m not jetting off to dreamy destinations. I’m not “living the travel creator dream” — at least not in the ways people expect.

But I am still escaping.

I’ve been finding my freedom, inspiration, and joy in the everyday moments. In solo dates, new spaces, and cultural experiences that stretch my imagination — all without leaving Manchester.

Because travel isn’t always about the miles.

Sometimes, it’s about the mindset.

🌌 Supermassive UK: A Cosmic Getaway Without a Passport

I recently visited Supermassive UK — a galactic-themed cocktail bar that literally took me out of this world for an evening. Think sci-fi vibes, dramatic lighting, space-age interiors, and a creative menu that made me feel like I was in Tokyo, LA, or some faraway planet.

This spot reminded me that atmosphere is everything. I didn’t need to leave the country to feel transported — I just needed the courage to explore something different, right here.

🍽️ Six by Nico: A 10-Course Taste Trip

I also took myself on a solo fine dining date at Six by Nico, where each six-week menu tells a new story through food. I went all in with the 10-course experience, and let me tell you — I left inspired, full, and creatively recharged.

It felt luxurious. Intentional. Like honoring myself with the kind of experience I used to think I had to share with someone else or wait until I “deserved.”

Turns out, showing up for yourself is a celebration.

💃 Upcoming: Salsa de Cuba at Ramona

On August 7th, I’m heading to Salsa de Cuba at Ramona for a night of music, movement, and mingling with culture.

🗓️ Event Details

It’s my way of tapping into Latin vibes, rhythm, and joy — right here in Manchester. These kinds of events keep my creativity alive and remind me that cultural immersion doesn’t always require a passport.

🧠 Why These Escapes Matter

For someone like me — building a business, recovering from burnout, navigating family demands, and holding onto big dreams — these little escapes are lifelines.

They give me:

  • Inspiration for content
  • Fuel for storytelling
  • Room to breathe when life feels heavy
  • A reminder that I don’t have to wait to live beautifully

🌍 What Travel Really Means to Me

Travel isn’t always about leaving the country.

It’s about:

  • Curiosity
  • Culture
  • Celebration
  • Connection
  • Creativity

Whether I’m sipping a space-themed cocktail, dining solo in a high-end restaurant, or dancing under the stars to Cuban rhythms, I’m still on the journey.

And I share these moments not to show off — but to remind you:

You can escape, explore, and express yourself exactly where you are.

🎥 Want to See More of These Escapes?

I document these experiences on TikTok @minnieescapes — not just for aesthetics, but to show you that the journey to freedom doesn’t always look like luxury travel. Sometimes it looks like finding joy in your own city, one night at a time.

If you’re building your dream life slowly, quietly, and intentionally — you’re not behind.

You’re right on time.
